Lessons learned

With the white flag waving, Ben Cooper was feeling great. Providing his kart with just the slightest input, he hit all the right marks. There was little question he was going to earn a podium finish, perhaps even a win. But he didn’t make it to the checkered flag.

Instead, he learned a valuable lesson that changed his life.

Twynham secures second F3 Open podium at Portimao

Cameron Twynham emerged from a challenging European F3 Open encounter at Portimao Circuit last weekend with a podium finish and further valuable experience as he continues his maiden season of international motorsport.

Piloting a Team West-Tec-prepared Dallara F308 in the series’ Copa Class, 17-year-old Twynham arrived at the Portuguese venue in optimistic mood having won on-debut at last month’s Paul Ricard event.

CRG out! Kosmic In!

Bruno finds success in the Rocky Mountain Prokart Series despite having mechanical woes. Bruno knew that this season would be a huge step up in his chase to become a professional racing driver. But, like the top F1 drivers, Bruno finds him self conquering the toughest challenges to date with superb skill and talent. One of these hurdles is the fact that the CRG chassis is just to stiff for the size and weight of bruno. SO, as stated before, CRG out! Kosmic in!
“We tried everything, softer axels, softer wheels, loose seat, loose bumper, but still, nothing!” said 13 year old Bruno Carneiro after a brave 3rd place on the Saturday Finals and a DNF on Sunday, when he missed another 3rd spot, 4 corners to the end due to an axle slide.
For the past 2 years, Bruno has been driving CRG chassis in Utah.
“We knew it would be hard on Bruno to try to cope with the CRGs”said Ricardo Legree. (more…)

John Pike Tests Rotax Max at Dunkeswell

John Pike Tests Rotax Max at Dunkeswell

It’s been a few months since I last wrote a race report, but so much has happened in-between with coursework and University shenanigans it feels like years. Last weekend I raced in Rotax Max at Dunkeswell, in South West England, and here’s how I found it…

Throughout practice on the Saturday we tried several different setup changes that we hadn’t yet had a proper chance to try on the chassis: The little things like ride height, the obscure caster/camber pill settings that nobody ever uses, and Ackermann. Throughout the day we were really consistent and each session I was posting successive laps merely a few hundredths either side of each other.  I wasn’t the quickest but judging by the testing it was looking like I could be a strong contender for the final win.
